Weston Farm is a 900 acre organic stock farm breeding and producing pedigree Beef Shorthorn cattle and situated at the southernmost tip of the Pentland Hills, a couple of miles from the Scottish Borders. Its well off the beaten track while remaining within easy driving distance of Glasgow and Edinburgh. The house and yard date back to at least the eighteenth century and have a traditional country style character - with mod cons.
We are keen riders with several horses of our own and very much welcome others in exploring and enjoying the countryside around us. We are approved by the British Horse Society under its Horses Welcome
scheme. The accommodation for people and for horses is spacious, comfortable and relaxing and the house has great southerly views of the Medwyn valley and Black Mount, Black Law and Tinto. Up to eight people and horses can be accommodated in our traditional farmhouse and steading. We provide bed and breakfast, with dinner and packed lunches on request. We are keen cooks and use our own and local produce wherever possible.

The south Pentland hills and the northern Scottish Borders remain relatively undeveloped and unexplored areas for riders but provide the opportunity for experiencing some fantastic riding and the farm is an ideal base for a range of different abilities and ambitions. You may simply be looking for plenty of varied off-road hacking within an hour's drive of Glasgow or Edinburgh followed by a good meal and a night or two at the farm or want to do some serious fittening work with your horse, perhaps in preparation for TREC or endurance. You may be looking to make an overnight stop en route to somewhere else; or you may be looking for the opportunity to enjoy longer half and full day rides, perhaps over the hills to the Covenanter's Grave or following the Roman road to West Linton, taking in a stunning and isolated landscape. Alternatively, you could trailer out further each day to well-mapped routes in places where no suitable horse-friendly facilities exist. Weston Farm is also a good starting or finishing point for the very much more ambitious long-distance rider since it is possible to link up to a network of routes stretching between here and as far as the Ae Forest, the Cheviots, Esdkdalemuir or even Northumberland via the Border towns.
As well as offering riding opportunities, there are a number of places of interest to visit in the area, including Little Sparta, New Lanark, Dawyck Botanic Garden and Stobo Castle spa.
